I love to drum. I have been drumming now a little over 2 years. I play the Doumbek and Djembe hand drums using Middle Eastern Belly dance Rhythms and am teaching myself some drum circle Rhythms.
I own seven drums total right now, but am sure I will add to my collection.
I don't attend drum circles as often as I would like but hopefully in the future I can. I am a member of some drummers and we drum for Belly dancers. My wife is a student Belly dancer. I love drumming for the dancers and love to drum alone or with others just jamming.
For me drumming is a spiritual experience. It can sooth and heal. when I had my wreck my brothers tried to drum for me on my cell phone, but it did not work, but I still felt the healing from the rhythms as they drummed even though I did not hear them.
Just last week I had gotten my teeth pulled and was in a little pain during practice but the healing rhythms caused me to feel much better.
I meditate using my drum and Pound out rhythms as a gift to the Goddess and God.
I like to drum and talk drumming with other drummers.
If you drum or just like listening to hand drumming leave a note so I we can discuss this wonderful spiritual experience.
