In 1972 I had just married my first wife and we lived in a small one bedroom house. This house was across the street from the parents of a high school classmate.
I woke up about 2:00am one morning and this old man was standing at the foot of my bed looking at me. I started yelling at him to get out of my house. My yelling woke my wife up and she saw this old man also and started screaming. I kept yelling at him and was getting out of bed to forcefully escort him out of my house when he pointed his finger at me and said,"NO, You get out of my house," then he just vanished.
Being the skeptic I was and not willing to believe in spirits or ghosts, I searched the house to find all doors and windows locked and no sign of the old man anywhere.
The next day my friend was visiting his parents and I told him my story and he asked me to describe the old man so I did. My friend went to his parents house and came back out with a pictures of an old man and asked me if the old man in my house looked like him. It was the same man so my friend explained that old man lived in my house the last days of his life and loved that small little house and died there.
I decided the old man was thinking I was the intruder because some ghosts do not realize they are dead and it is possible he though I was the intruder.
He never showed himself after that although he die have voice contact with me a couple more times trying to scare me off.
